Not much to report right now except that Steve Smith left practice after colliding with the cornerback Chris Gamble.  He bummed up his shoulder - not a good start Panthers.  The X-rays were negative so lets all keep our fingers crossed.   The LAST thing we need is for Steve Smith to get injured or something.  Ok, maybe not the last thing (D – Williams would be the worst) but pretty bad.  Steve Smith is our biggest deep threat and with him not even 100% our passing game in Carolina could be putrid.  Let’s hope for a “speedy” recovery by our guy!

Steve had 1421 yards last season and a team high 78 catches.  Just 6 touchdowns but he should get more in 2009 if he stays healthy.  Jake Delhomme is counting on him thats for sure.
